Free Books for the students in state-run schools: Haryana Governmenton Jan 25, 2020 Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal made the announcement of providing free books to the students from class 9th to 12th, studying in state-run schools. The state government is already giving free school bags, books, stationery and uniforms to the students from class 1st to 8th. The centre has also suggested applying Rashtriya Shiksha Niti 2019 so that the plan of free education from class 8th to 12th can expand. The Haryana government had already decided to apply the Rashtriya Shiksha Niti 2019 in the state-run schools. Pal also stated the NCERT books which are being taught in the government schools cost around Rs 650 to Rs 700 per student per class. Later he also gave the figure of the total students studying in class 9th to 12th which is 6,19,256. The decision of the education minister of Haryana to provide free books to the students has an expenditure of Rs 41.47 crore. It is the decision towards the betterment of the education system.
